AI Readiness Audit for Schools
Every school is under pressure to "do something about AI." This audit tells you whether what you've done is enough — and what to do next.

The Six Dimensions

01
Strategy & Vision
Coherent strategy or scattered tool adoption?
02
Teaching & Learning
Substitution, augmentation, or transformation?
03
Assessment Integrity
Would your assessments survive an AI audit?
04
Data Governance
UAE law compliance, DPIA, ethics policy
05
Teacher Capability
Observed capability, not self-reported
06
Safeguarding
Chatbot protocols, dependency, data exposure

How It Works

Phase 1: School self-assessment — 60 questions, 2 weeks. Phase 2: Evidence review of policies, CPD records, frameworks. Phase 3: 15–20 page diagnostic report with maturity scores, commendations, priorities, 12-month roadmap, KHDA alignment, and leadership debrief.

Packages

Standard: Assessment + report + debrief. Plus: Standard + half-day follow-up workshop at 3 months. Premium: Plus + 6-month and 12-month progress reviews. Contact to discuss.

Executive Coaching for School Leaders

Strategic, not therapeutic. Expert coaching from someone who has led seven Outstanding schools — and is still doing it.

Who This Is For

New principals navigating the loneliest promotion in education. Experienced principals facing KHDA, board restructuring, AI integration, staff culture reset. Aspiring principals preparing for headship. Directors and CEOs who need a thinking partner.

The Model

Structured packages from 3 to 12 sessions, 75 minutes each via Zoom. Session 1: Diagnostic. Sessions 2–5: Strategic working sessions. Final session: Review and forward plan. Between sessions: email/WhatsApp for time-sensitive decisions. Annual retainer available.

What You'll Gain

Tangible leadership outcomes — not abstract personal growth

A strategic plan for your first 100 days, next inspection cycle, or board presentation — pressure-tested by someone who's done it
Faster, more confident decision-making on staffing, curriculum, stakeholder management, and operational crises
A coherent AI integration strategy that satisfies your board, reassures parents, and genuinely improves teaching and learning
Inspection readiness that goes beyond compliance — the kind of preparation that turns Outstanding from aspiration into expectation

Programme Structure

Each engagement follows a proven diagnostic-to-action arc

01 Diagnostic Deep-Dive
Session 1 · 75 min
A structured exploration of your school's position, your leadership context, and the pressures shaping your decisions. We map your strategic landscape — governance, inspection history, staffing dynamics, community expectations — and identify the two or three levers that will create the most immediate impact. You leave with a prioritised action framework, not a wish list.
02 Strategic Working Sessions
Sessions 2–5 · 75 min each
This is where the real work happens. Each session targets a specific challenge — whether that's rebuilding a dysfunctional SLT, designing your AI policy, preparing for a KHDA inspection, or navigating a difficult board conversation. I bring frameworks, provocation, and operational experience. You bring the context. We build solutions together that are ready for Monday morning.
03 Between-Session Support
Ongoing · Email & WhatsApp
Leadership doesn't pause between sessions. When a crisis hits at 7am or a board email lands at 10pm, you have direct access for time-sensitive counsel. This isn't therapy-on-demand — it's a sounding board for decisions that can't wait. Document review, talking-point preparation, and rapid strategic reads are all included.
04 Review & Forward Plan
Final Session · 75 min
We audit what shifted, what stuck, and what still needs work. You receive a written forward plan — a confidential strategic brief that maps your next 6–12 months with clear priorities, risk flags, and decision points. Many clients transition to an annual retainer at this stage, maintaining access for the moments that matter most.

Who This Is For

Four pathways, one standard of rigour

New Principals 0–2 years in post. You're navigating the loneliest promotion in education — from being the best teacher in the room to being responsible for everyone in the building. Sessions focus on authority without arrogance, early wins, and avoiding the traps that end first headships early.
Experienced Heads Facing inflection points: KHDA inspection pressure, board restructuring, AI integration, staff culture reset, or the quiet erosion of purpose that hits mid-career. You don't need someone to tell you what leadership is. You need someone who's navigated the same pressures at the same level.
Aspiring Principals Preparing for headship. Sessions cover interview preparation, strategic portfolio development, and the mindset shift from operational excellence to whole-school vision. This is about becoming the candidate that governing boards can't ignore.
Directors & CEOs Leading groups of schools, managing principals, or overseeing education strategy at board level. You need a thinking partner who understands governance, regulatory landscape, and the gap between what boards want to hear and what schools actually need.

Leadership

A philosophy

"I once audio-recorded university Masters Degree students describing how they learn best, then I filmed four-year-old children exploring their learning environment. When I merged the two recordings, the children's natural habits matched the adults' ideal descriptions perfectly."

Somewhere between the ages of four and twenty-four, most schools get the process of learning wrong. Everything I have done across eight schools and four continents has been driven by a single conviction: if we want to build lifelong learners, we must never stop listening to the people we are trying to teach.

Outstanding is not a destination. It is not a badge you earn and then protect. It is a practice — a daily discipline of noticing what works, discarding what doesn't, and never confusing compliance with quality. Every school I have led started with the same question: what does this community need, and how fast can we build it?

Leadership in education is not about having all the answers. It is about creating the conditions in which the right questions get asked — by teachers, by students, and by the leaders who come after you.

First Headship

Manchester, England

My first headship was in a highly select Cheshire village, home to many of the world's leading premier league footballers. The challenge was to take a school that could easily coast, and develop a level of ambition that would propel it into the highest categories of performance. Within three years we were judged 'Outstanding' and featured in The Sunday Times top 50 schools in the UK.

School of the Future

Birmingham, England

The school was already internationally renowned when I was appointed its Headteacher, so the challenge was how to take it 'beyond outstanding'. The drive, through innovation, to new heights of excellence and groundbreaking work in new technologies, brought prime ministers, secretaries of state and hundreds of Principals every week to our school to learn from what we were doing to make tomorrow's school for the students of today.

I worked with schools across Melbourne, Tasmania, Boston USA and Cape Town introducing leaders and teachers to the delights and challenges of working with New Technologies to inspire great learning.

Executive Headteacher & National Leader of Education

London, England

Three Outstanding headships led to designation as a National Leader of Education, one of a small number from England's 25,000 serving principals. The role shifted from leading one school to leading across a federation of schools and supporting hundreds of schools in the most challenging circumstances nationally. This was also the period of my deepest policy engagement: advising three successive Secretaries of State, contributing to the Cambridge Primary Review, and working with two Deputy Prime Ministers' Offices on Early Years education and national engagement with New Technologies.

I also worked with the National College of School Leadership leading SLICT (Strategic Leadership of ICT) workshops around the country and with the UK Government on the £55 Billion BSF (Building Schools of the Future) programme. Additionally I was a regular contributor to the Westminster Education Forum, debating the role of new technologies in education. I was appointed a Director of the SSAT (The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust), representing 25,000 schools across the UK, and contributed to the 2013 review of the National Curriculum for England and Wales.

Director of Education

Dubai, UAE · Fortes Education

As Director of Education at Fortes Education, the role encompasses strategic oversight of academic performance across K-12 schools spanning EYFS through to Sixth Form, serving thousands of students across British and IB curricula. The scope is total: curriculum development, inspection readiness, staff professional development, operational leadership, and the strategic direction that determines whether a school group competes or leads.

This has also been the period of my deepest intellectual and entrepreneurial output. The AI work has become a defining strand of my focus. A body of 27+ published articles explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, pedagogy, ethics, and school leadership, written in a narrative, research-heavy style that has built a growing international readership.

Keynotes at GITEX Global, the World Education Summit, British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), GESS Dubai, the Outstanding Schools Middle East conference, the Middle East Schools Leadership Conference, Dubai AI Conference, the NEASC AI Conference, the Abu Dhabi Teaching Conference, and the BSME Principals Conference, have established a platform as one of the leading voices on AI in education in the region.

Most ambitiously, the development of an Intelligent Tutoring System built on a two-layer deterministic-and-LLM architecture with 31 configurable parameters, represents a genuine attempt to build what schools actually need from AI, rather than what technology companies want to sell them.

The question that drives everything in my current work is: how do you lead a school into the AI era without losing the things that make it a school and that support genuine learning?
